Angolan Players in Europe

There are still many Angolan players in Europe that are unknown to the people in Angola. The Angolan FA (FAF) needs to step up and start approaching these players.

Luwamo Garcia (born 1 May 1985) is a midfielder, who currently plays for RKC Waalwijk (Dutch league)

Antonio Correia (born 22 October 1983)- striker – FC Inter Turku (Finnish league)

Guilherme Afonso (born 15 November 1985)- striker – BV Veendam (Dutch league)

Eldon Martins Maquemba (born 8 June 1984)- striker – Olympiakos Nicosia (Cypriot league)

Francisco Zuela (born 3 August 1983)- Defender- Skoda Xanthi (Greek league)

Hélder Graca Neto (September 5, 1982)- striker – Doxa Katokopias (Cyprus)

Pedro Kamata (born 6 September 1981 in Luanda)- midfielder – Bari (Italian Serie B)

Frederico de Castro Roque dos Santos (Freddy) [Has played for the national team before] (born 14 August 1978 in Malanje)- Striker – Enosis Neon Paralimni (Cypriot league)

Last but not least

Evandro Brandao (May 7 1991)- striker- Manchester United Academy [Although young, it would be great if the coaches started to call him for the under-21 squads. He seems promising and if FAF fail to do their jobs (again), he will end up playing for the Portuguese national team in the future]

There is inumerous talent in Europe. If only the national team staff had the patience to scout players, the national team would certainly be better.

Mabi de Almeida needs to “discover” some of these players, in order to gain more credibility as a serious coach.
Fingers crossed that Mabi de Almeida will read this article and do some research on Angolan players (This is how much we need new talent).

Heavy rain spoiled what could have been a very interesting match. The end result of the heavy rain was a string of terrible misses by both sides.
The first opportunity of the match fell to Manucho but he could do no better than hit the side netting. The “Vino Tinto” responded with an effort that stretched goalkeeper Lama.

Angola to play Venezuela

The Angolan FA has announced that the National Team will play 10 friendly games before the Nations Cup in 2010.
The first match will be against Venezuela on November 19 in Caracas.
The FA have also announced that they will introduce the new manager by November. They are supposedly looking for a manager with high experience and competence.

Goncalves transformed the Angolan national team when he took charge in 2003.
