Who’s going to be Angola’s hero?
We’ve seen it before in past World Cup competitions. A single player can lift a team up on his back and carry them to a surprising win or to the next round. While I think the strength of Angola is our overall team play and I think the coaches and players are right to emphasize that, I also can’t help but thing that a hero will emerge from our team this tournament.
Akwa was the man during the qualification rounds and he has the ability to rise to the occassion in Germany. But he also will be the focus of all of the defenses in Group D.
I think we might see an unsung hero emerge. My pick is for Mateus. His form has been excellent lately and from what I have seen of him he has the talent to play against anyone.
What do you think? Who will be the Angola player that emerges to take the world by storm?

Flavio did well at the African Nations Cup (CAN), Mendonca has been very consistent so far, Ze Kalanga has shown some resilience, Love was very aggresive in the game against Turkey.. but at the end of the day I think it’ll be Mantorras…. trust me guys… he’s been quiet, but he has a killer instinct!

I think Angola will pull a Cameroon and just kick some butt. Play hard and catch opponents off guard.

Ze Kalanga to be the hero. I hope he scores the first goal. According to this article, the first player to score will be given a house.
