What would be success?

When I look around World Cup Blog and other Internet sites I see that not many people think Angola is going to be very good at the World Cup. They see the Palancas Negras as “minnows” and predict that they will lose all three games. They say we were lucky to even make the World Cup and should be happy just earning a trip to Germany. So, today I ask all the Angola fans out there - as well as fans of other teams - what your expectations are for our team and what you would consider to be a successfull tournament.

Is it a success if we don’t get killed in all three games? Is it a success if we win a game? Is it a success only if we make it to the next round? Is it a success if we make the plane flight in time?

You tell me. Go ahead and leave a comment. I will post my thoughts on what I think Angola success means later this week.

Success would be winning against Iran and getting a draw with either Mexico or Portugal. I wouldnt mind beating Iran only. Anything less is big time failure.

I think Angolans will be proud if their team plays good football throught the World cup regardless of the scores. Playing good means not getting thrashed by Portugal or Mexico and definetely not losing to Iran.

Vidigal has already played for Portugal. I dont think he is elegible to play.

Angola should be proud to be at the 2006 world cup for the first time ever. It is a remarkable accomplishment for a war-torn nation like Angola to join 31 other nations in the best sporting event in the world. Angola did incredibly well reaching the world cup; and indicates that Angola has more than a limited ability and will be seeking good performances against Mexico, Iran and Portugal; all difficult tasks against good oppositions.

Best of luck to Angola. Don’t thin you’ll get much change out of Portugal and Mexico. There’s a pretty good chance you can take Iran though.

Angolains should be proud of the team. I have one concern, the team is too young and i don’t believe akwa will shine in germany we should bring experience in the team. what do you think my fellow angolains?
