Gilberto Lashes out at Angola Federation

Midfielder Gilberto’s leg is not the only thing that is hurt these days. So are his feelings.

Injured during Angola’s African Nations Cup training camp, Gilberto has not received one phone call from Angola’s Football Federation. Nor has he received an email, fax or personal visit. And get this, his club team Al Ahly of Egypt has not been reimbursed by the Federation even though it paid for Gilberto to have surgery!

Said Gilberto in the always informative Angola Press: “Since I arrived (in Cairo) from Germany (on January 02), no official has phoned me to know how I am and how the surgery went.”

Fear not Gilberto. Here at World Cup Blog we care about you. We have put the interns to work and they will be mailing you get well cards shortly. We’ve also put a jar out by the reception desk and will collect pennies from local children to help your club team get its money back.
