Game Day: Angola vs. Iran
This is it. It is now or never for our heroes. They know what they need to do. They need to beat Iran and hope that Portugal takes out Mexico. While it is easy to focus on advancing, the task at hand will not be easy. Despite losing both their matches, Iran is a good team and they will give the Palancas all they can handle. Our friend Afshin on the Iran board has posted a preview that should help you get to know Iran better.
The big question for Angola is whether we can play an attacking style of football and come out on top. The first two games we played a very defensive game, choosing to pick our spots to move forward. That can’t be the case today. We need to score and we need to attack.
Akwa said earlier this week: “We have a greater sense of self belief now. We believe we can do it, even though we have to control the game from the very first minute. There is a small possibility that we can go through. We have to dream.”
I could not agree more. We need to get off to a quick start and put pressure on both Iran and Mexico. I think we have the talent and the heart to do it.
I believe!
