Club Fights for Yamba Asha’s Right to Party

February 8th, 2006 | By: WC Bob | No Comments »

Yamba Asha was hit up with a nine-month suspension following a failed doping test in October. Now his club team, Atlético Sport Aviacao, is coming to his aide by trying to get the suspension overturned. The club’s administration recently applied to the Angolan Football Federation (FAF) to make an appeal to FIFA. This is a longshot at best, but if the appeal is successful Asha could be eligible to play for the Palancas Negras in the World Cup.

Who will come out on top in the battle between FAF and FIFA? I’m sure this blog and Angola Press will be following this showdown closely in the weeks ahead.
