Angola v Egypt

angola.jpgLet me start by saying that Angola have done extremely well to get this far. People in Angola will surely be happy with the team regardless of the result (as long as its not a heavy loss!).

As Tamim in the Egyptian blog pointed out, Angola played Egypt just weeks before the African Cup and they drew 3-3. That alone leads them to believe that they can overcome Egypt. Morale is also quite high which is always a good sign.

Ive heard different people arguing that Angola play their best against big teams (especially when they are at home- which is not the case). The match with Egypt is very unpredictable and could go both ways. The recent match against them should have given the coach and the team an idea of what to expect and should also have given them an opportunity to explore the Egyptian team’s weaknesses. However, this also applies to the Egyptian team, and if they can fix the issues they had in the previous match, then we are in for a cracker!

I am sure that I dont need to remind anyone that Egypt has a very good team, full of capable players and of course they have an amazing team spirit. In this match, tactics will prove to be more significant than individual talent. The team that adopts the best tactics will probably win.

For Angola to win, Goncalves will need to do his homework well. But whatever the result, they will return home to a warm welcome!
