Angola to Play Argentina, Saudi Arabia and USA in Friendlies
It is official. Angola has lined up three stellar friendlies in the run up to the World Cup.
May 31 – Argentina (Naples)
June 2 – Saudi Arabia (Leverkusen)
June 5 – USA (Hamburg)
This is an excellent group of teams for the Palancas Negras to play. Argentina has such a great history that it is merely an honour just to be on the same pitch. Saudi Arabia is an improved team that should help us prepare for Iran. The United States is also a quality side that should present a good final challenge before the World Cup kicks off.
Another joyous day for Angola fans! This summer can’t get here soon enough.
I hope no players get hurt…

Why are the friendlies being played so close to one another and so close to the world cup?

Kiko, you bring up a good point but I think there is really only a small window when friendlies can be scheduled. I have looked at what the other teams are doing and many are playing the last two weeks before the start of the World Cup. Let’s hope our players are fit from training and don’t get hurt while they have this incredible opportunity to gain experience.
