Angola Player Profile: Love Kabungula

Chances are that unless you follow Angolan football closely or you are related to him, you probably haven’t heard of Love Kabungula. Known simply as Love, the 26-year-old striker is someone you should get to know sooner rather than later. As my mother told me growing up in Luanda, it is always important to embrace love.

So who is this man with the beautiful name and the even more beautiful set of football kicking legs?

loveSimply put, he is Angola’s golden boot. The man eats the domestic football league alive like a hungry shark navigating through a pool full of bleeding swimmers. Last year Love showed his stuff by netting a cool 13 goals. The year before that he won the Golden Boot with an amazing 17 goals. That’s two Golden Boots in two years. Paris Hilton doesn’t have as nice a collection of shoes.

Brother Love can play.

Unfortunately, Love hasn’t had that kind of success when he’s played for our national team. He never seems to get much of an opportunity to play and when he does it is usually too late in the game for him to do much. Not sure what coach Luis Goncalves de Oliviera has against him but he seems relegated to being behind Flavio, Edson and Akwa in the lineup.

Coach, on behalf of Palancas Negras fans everywhere I ask that this summer in Germany you SHOW US SOME LOVE.

i am afraid he wont be playing as he is last resort! He never takes his chance to shine for the national team. But who can blame him? he only plays for a few minutes.
