Togo #1, Angola #2

Angola and Togo might not be favored to win the World Cup, but they will be the first teams to arrive in Germany. I’m happy about this. It will give the players time to adjust to the climate and the different grass in Europe. They’ll be training at a good facility as well.

Meanwhile, former Liberian great George Weah is calling for Africans to unite around the World Cup teams. I’ll certainly be rooting for Tunisia and Ivory Coast. Not too sure I can throw my full support behind Ghana and Togo. I have too many memories of previous battles with Angola, but I guess in the end I want to see them do well too. It certainly is a joy that so many new teams are representing the continent. It gives hope to a lot of people.
