I may stand correct on this one but I do believe that Abel, Vata and Mantorras have played in the Uefa champions league, the former two in the old format in the late 80’s and early 90’s and the later just as recent as a year or so ago.
And I think Chico “brinca n’areia” Diniz also played in the old format either in the 60’s or 70’s.
I also think Quinzinho played Uefa Champions league at Porto in the Bobby Robson era in the mid 90’s.

I am so happy that manucho has finally got his work permit. Now he has a big job on his hand to prove to the world that he is not a waste of time & I can promise you that sir alex furguson has made the right choice in signing him & I can also gurantee you that many manchester united fans across the world will be shocked by his ability.

This is just the beginning of Angolan football talent!

I think you are totally wrong, Manucho will have his place to shine in the sun and I have no doubt he will do well.
Queiros didnt buy Manucho, MU did. Even after he was recomended to MU he had to go for 3 week trial in which he could’ve been rejected.
Furthermore, If MU didnt want him they could just not apply for work permit but that we know they did.
They went even further, they offloaded to other strikers in Saha, and F.Campbell but he stil stayed, what more does one to do prove that he is wanted?
MU now have 4 strikers, Manucho may not be the number 1 striker but he will definately get his chance.
When you look at the strikers at ManU disposal you’ll realise that Manucho offers something different to what Berba, Tevez, Rooney or even CRon offers.

I bet that Manucho will never play for Manchester United believe me or not he does not have the change for doing so.
he had his change when carlos Queiroz was the coach for MU.

I do not think that he left him out purposely, but the official word is that he is still injured, however my views are that there’s a tacit deal with the angolan FA and Man United, similar to what Benfica had with Angola FA in which they would’ve not selected Mantorras for any international for a period of a year to allow the player to settle into the team and both parties would have been served for it.

Hey kiko,
It is “official” now even the manchester united official website confirms it, I am now super happy:-P.
Just to add to this I believe there’s either reserves or academy players at manchester that are in fact angolans, as in the case of Evandro brandao, though is official profile says that he is Portuguese, also as recent as a month or so Dai-Dai an angolan under 17 got transfered to manchester united, furthermore there another player named Rico, however I don’t know much about him.

oh man, i m so delighted to hear that, i was literally praying for this work permit for manucho as i m a big big man united fan & this guy manucho, when i heard about manu signing him, i was really really happy but these sucky rules of UK immigration were in the way. I am kinda surprised why there is no much publicity of manucho getting the work permit, may be sir alex wants to keep it a surprise for other team but i can assure you guys that manucho will be as bigger hit as drogba. (i wonder what will happen to Berbatov … you can see manu’s interest fadding considerably in the last 3-4 days and now we found out it was due to manucho’s work permit)…

this news is indeed true, the reports from angolan national papers is that he obtained the necessary paper work on thursday.
Personally I believe all the atributes to do well in the EPL and I hope proves me right.
one gets the feeling that sir Alex Ferguson wants Manucho to be a surprise introduction to most teams, whilst everyone is concentrating on Berbatov and the likes, they lready have their own “Solkjaer” to do what he has to do…
