Mantorras Rides the Bench in Benefica Win

After all the excitement of learning that Pedro Mantorras would be playing for Benefica in today’s Champions League match against Liverpool there was a tremendous letdown when the match started and he was on the bench. Turns out he didn’t play a single second so once again we were denied a chance of seeing an Angolan player show the world his greatness. Benefica did end up winning 1-0 but you have to think that if Pedro had played they would have scored at least three or four goals. I guess we can always hope he sees action in the return leg, but no amount of palm wine is going to make me less bummed tonight.
