Hope is the last thing to die

May 6th, 2006 | By: WC Bob | 4 Comments »

Here is a good article where coach Luis Oliveira Goncalves talks about Angola’s chances at the World Cup and Akwa talks about his decision to retire from international football after the World Cup. My favorite quote from the Professor:

“Angola will go to the World Cup to try and play beautiful football. Anyone who wants to beat us will have to run a lot. We will put on a beautiful performance,” Goncalves said.

I have a lot of confidence that win, lose or draw, the Palancas are going to make us very proud and Akwa is going go out with a bang.

Who will Goncalves pick to be his forwards at the WC? Flavio scored 3 goals at the African nations, Mateus did well in the Cosafa cup and Love and Mantorras are both in form. Do you guys think that there is any hope for Titi Buengo or Santana to make the WC squad?

As a scottish fan I’d like to know what is happening about Jose Quitongo. Is there nay chance of him making the squad?

There is a chance that Quitongo makes the squad, but that will depend on his current form as there are many players in his position playing well.
