Herve Renard Set To Rebuild The Palancas Negras
The new Angola Manager Herve “Rene” Renard has vowed to hold weekly training sessions with Girabola players, in order to improve their teamwork for the National team.
Renard asked for the collaboration of club managers in this ambitious nationwide scheme.
This is without a doubt a step in the right direction, although Rene will have to convince the club managers first.
Appointed fairly recently, Rene is already showing signs of developing innovative approaches to the National team. Rene is contracted for two years and is also responsible for the youth set-up.
I cannot wait to see the result of his work!
I hope he does a good job ,but he should see others players in europe playing.I dont trust too much on girabola players.

I think they offered him a decent looking deal estimated to be around $50,000 (US dollars)a month.
He looks like an ambitious person who has a genuine desire to win. I remember him saying during the African Cup that he wanted to manage big teams and take them to world cups. While I dont really see Angola as a “big team”, I really like the fact that he will try something new and help young players in the local league.

When will he start coaching Angola? Will he be in charge of the local players taking part in CHAN?

his first true test will be against Mexico in Houston next month.
Mexico might just make this a blowout, depending what Renard opts for.

sscouser:
He will guide Angola in the match v Malawi. In his interview he set himself the minimum target of reaching CHAN 2011 and AFCON 2012, even though the FA told him that he would not be under any pressure if he didnt qualify for CHAN finals. They want to give him time to carry out his project.
Hector:
Considering that Manuel Jose played with a different system, the team might actually struggle to adjust to Renard’s tactics on their first outing.
However, if they are to play using the same system, Mexico are unlikely to move as freely as they were allowed to in the WC 2006.
If I were to predict the score, I would say 2-1 to Mexico.

Good choice by faf, because he’s young, knows at least 75% of african soccer.as a french will be easier to bring angola players in france ,switzerland, belgium, and other parts of europe.
we expect development on young girabola players.

It looks like Coritiba’s 18 yr old Angolan playmaker Geraldo has been called up for Angola for their May 13th friendly in Houston against Mexico. Great news. He is a very good player. great technically, and also scored 2 weeks ago in the Derby against Brazilian Serie A rivals Atletico Paranaense to seal them as Parana champions

Good choice by Angolan officials, we’ll see if he can adapt to the Portuguese speaking environment and be able to get his message across. He turned down Cote d’Ivoire to take Angola… I think he can achieve something so long as him and players can communicate well.
