Halftime: Angola 1 Turkey 0

June 2nd, 2006 | By: WC Bob | 5 Comments »

It is halftime in Holland with the Palancas leading Turkey 1-0. Akwa picked up the goal in the 31st minute. Angola has looked pretty good so far, playing tighter in the backline and seeing more from its midfield than it did against Argentina earlier this week. You can watch the second half here. The starting lineup was:

1. Pereira Joao Ricardo
3. Joao Jamba
5. Carlos Kali
7. Paulo Figueiredo
8. Andre Macanga
10. Fabrice Akwa
11. Andre Mateus
14. Antonio Mendonca
17. Jose Ze Kalanga
20. Manuel Loco
21. Luis Delgado

We are definetely playing like a World Cup team now. We now need to concentrate and avoid conceding goals.

Im ashamed with the goals we conceded. With a defense like that, we wont go anywhere!

We just witnessed Angola playing some poor soccer, again. Coach must start Mantorras alongside Akwa. Coach cannot play 3-5-1 because our defense becomes too weak. Loco can’t play solid D; he has poor ball control. We should also see more of Love.

What a terrible game…

There’s got to be an interesting story behind Turkey’s 3rd goal coming only a moment after Angola tied it at 2…
