Goncalves: Don’t Worry about the Friendlies

Putting his best face on Angola’s losses in its World Cup exhibitions, coach Luis Oliveira Goncalves said he isn’t concerned by the results against Argentina, Turkey and the United States.

“These games allowed us to look at the team and how the team played. We are not worried,” Goncalves said.

Figueiredo and Kali both echoed their coach’s sentments with both again emphasizing the need to concentrate and to not make careless mistakes.

I like the talk that is coming out of Angola’s camp. The players and coaches seem very upbeat and positive. There haven’t been anyone questioning the training and they all are on the same page. This type of harmony is especially important to our team. If we are going to win in this World Cup we are going to win with a total team effort.

I hope the play of the field matches the players’ words off of it. I can’t wait for the first game!
