Eusebo Warns Portugal
In the sports dauily A Bola, the legendary Eusebio had this message for Portugal:
“Be humble. Think that the first game is the final. And be careful with Angola. If they are at the World Cup it is because they are tops in Africa. Our rivals in the group stage are all difficult. Today there are no easy matches.”
The Great One is being very politicially correct here, but he is also correct. While I think some of the fans of Mexico, Iran and Portugal might be overlooking Angola, I don’t think the players on those teams will fall into that trap. I expect Portugal to be very ready to play Angola. I know that Goncalves will have his men very ready to face Portugal.
I only wish the game was tomorrow!
ANGOLA! do not think that Portugal will go ease on us… be awake. I am afraid to say this but Portugal in 2006 will be a very powerful team unlike any other year they played in the world cup. Be ready or the will kill us…
PS… ANgola play smart

Pasha, no matter how good Portugal’s players are, the truth is we’ve failed more than we’ve won. Specially when having to face theorically easier enemies – and then reality proves different than theory. I think he speaks wise words.
Angola are there, and you’re there out of merit. Like all the others. It’s enough for me.
