Argentina Coach Praises Angola

Ahead of Argentina’s exhibition match against Angola in Salerno on Tuesday, coach Jose Pekerman had these words to say about the Palancas:

“They’re a good team, that’s also why we chose them as rivals, not just because they’re African,” he said of Angola, who like Ivory Coast will be making their first appearance in the World Cup. “They’re a team with a very European game, rather like Ivory Coast. They have players who are not so well known by the public but those of us who have watched them see an interesting team.”

Kind words. It is always cool to read what other people think about Angola, especially when they come from someone who has done his homework.

It is worth noting that this is Argentina’s lone exhibition match ahead of the World Cup so you have to think they are going to take it pretty seriously.
