Angola Wins Exhibition Match Before Heading to Lesotho

April 26th, 2006 | By: WC Bob | No Comments »

In advance of this week’s COSAFA Castle Cup in Lesotho, the Palancas Negras played an exhibition match against FC Bravos do Maquis yesterday. The good guys feel behind in the 67th minute but came back to win 3-1 behind goals by Love Kabungula in the 71st minute and Santana in the 87th and 92nd. After the match coach Oliveira said he was pleased by the team’s performance and the play of his mostly domestic-based players. I am especially excited that Love was given a chance to shine and that he took advantage of it. I continue to hold out hope that Angola’s leading domestic league scorer is going to play a role in Germany this summer.

The team took off today for Lesotho flying via South Africa. Can’t wait to see how they do in the tournament!
