Angola to play Venezuela

October 24th, 2008 | By: kiko | 2 Comments »

The Angolan FA has announced that the National Team will play 10 friendly games before the Nations Cup in 2010.

The first match will be against Venezuela on November 19 in Caracas.

The FA have also announced that they will introduce the new manager by November. They are supposedly looking for a manager with high experience and competence.

If the right decisions are made, then the African Cup Nations will not be as bad as first feared. The construction of the new stadiums are going well and the team will probably have time to play a few friendly games on them before the AFCON.

Why Venenzuela? Is their play similar to African Teams’ that made it to the 3rd round? Anyway, it’s understandable because you are not going to take part in the 3rd round games so you have all the time to experiment and assess the abilities of players that may potentially be selected for the squad (ACN)

I think they chose Venezuela because it is a different and exciting challenge.

Im sure that they will play African teams late in 2009 and beginning of 2010 (the same happened in 2006).
