Angola Leaves Mantorras Off Squad for Korea Match
Well shiver me timbers. Angola’s Football Federation is showing a lot of cojones by leaving disgruntled forward Mantorras off the squad for its upcoming friendly against South Korea in Seoul. Mantorras voiced his displeasure after not starting for the Palacas Negras in the recent African Cup of Nations. The Benefica striker implied that he would rather play for his club team than ride the bench for Angola. I say well done for leaving him off the team. Playing for Angola is a honor and a priviledge that few in the world will ever experience. Even if you are on the bench, the fact that you are wearing our nation’s colors should be reason enough to be happy…no….joyous.
The rest of the team that will travel to South Korea includes six players who did not play in Egypt. I am psyched that Rui Marques is going to be given a chance to show his stuff and we’ll see Marco Airosa in the backline. The rest of the team looks like this:
Goalkeepers: Goliath (Sagrada Esperanca), Joao Ricardo (unattached)
Defenders: Jamba (AS Aviacao), Kali (Santa Clara, Portugal), Lebo-Lebo (Sagrada Esperanca), Loco (Benfica Luanda), Marco Abreu (Poritimonense, Portugal), Marco Airosa (FC Barreirense, Portugal) Rui Marques (Leeds United, England)
Midfielders: Andre (Kuwait SC, Kuwait), Edson (Pacos Ferreira, Portugal), Figueiredo (Varzim, Portugal), Mendonca (Varzim, Portugal), Ze Kalanga (Petro Atletico), Zuela (Xanthi, Greece)
Strikers: Akwa (Al Wakra, Qatar), Andre Titi Buengo (Clermont Foot, France), Flavio (Al Ahli, Egypt), Love (AS Aviacao), Maurito (Al Wahda, United Arab Emirates).

Incredible! Who is going to score the goals for Angola now? I thought that Pedro Emanuel would have made the squad but the headlines are because Mantorras was left out of the squad!
