Angola has No Fear

Positive words coming from Angola coach Luis Oliveira Goncalves ahead of his team’s opening match against Cameroon in the African Nations Cup on Saturday.

“It is an opponent that we respect, but that we certainly don’t fear,” the coach told Reuters on Thursday.

A lot of people are downplaying the Palancas Negras’ chances in the CAN and certainly things took a turn for the worst when Gilberto went down with an injury in the final tune up against Morocco earlier this week.

Still, I like the attitude of the coach. Words such as these make me think that Angola is going to beat Cameroon on Saturday and the world will come to know how talented this team really is:

“We have a new status and we need to show that we are worthy of representing Africa in Germany,” said the Angolan coach.

Amen coach. Angola represent!
