Angola Face Turkey
The players have had a few days to train after losing to Argentina and now it is time for the Palancas to face Turkey. The game will be played today in Holland at 20:00 Central European Time.
Turkey should provide another tough test for Angola. The team made it to the final four of the 2002 World Cup and just barely missed out on qualifying this time around. They are starting to gear up for the 2008 European Championships so I’d expect to see them put forth a strong effort against Angola.
As for the Palancas, I will be interested in seeing what lineup coach Goncalves chooses to start this game. No doubt about it, the midfield remains a concern to me and I hope that he is able to come up with a combination that can fill what appears to be our greatest weakness.
I’m also hoping that Mantorras gets the start up front with Akwa. I still think this is our best combination and Mantorras needs to play as many minutes as possible to work his way into game fitness.
I want our team to play better, control the ball more and stay healthy. A win would be nice for the confidence but it also isn’t critical.
What do you want to see from this match? What result would please you?

Angola 2-1 Turkey
This result would be good. Turkey have drawn 1-1 with Ghana and have beaten Saudi Arabia 1-0. There is hope for us to beat them.

Turkey - for what I remember in the games played against Portugal - is quite technical but physically not as strong as Angola. Solid defending and speed, from a team with Angola’s features, could very well do the trick. Turkey had a very, very, very good goalkeeper.
Good luck, guys! FORCA!
