A Blueprint for Victory over Portugal

My life is a mess. I can’t sleep. I can’t get any work down. All I can think about is the game against Portugal. I wish it could be played right now, but we do have to wait a couple more days.

With all this nervous energy I’ve been thinking about what we need to do to beat a very, very good Portugal game. Here are my ideas.

1. Play mistake-free football: We can’t give Portugal any opportunities. They must earn it. Our backline must work together as one and receive support from our midfield.
2. Don’t played scared: This is the biggest moment in our players’ lives. They can’t get caught up in the moment. They must play football like the way they no how.
3. Don’t concede set plays: Portugal is very good on set pieces and frankly our defense has looked terrible guarding set plays in the friendlies. Limit the fouls.
4. Attack when possible: The best defense is a good offense. We have the speed and talent to give Portugal’s backline so problems. Akwa must control the ball and wait for support from the wingers and midfielders.
5. Win the midfield: If we control the midfield we will take away a big part of Portugal’s strength.
6. Play with courage: One Angola, one team. We can do it if we play together and give a maximum effort!

What are your keys to the game?

We need to practise shots outside the area. Its our best hope of goals. Akwa will be dealt with by Carvalho so we need Mateus, Figueiredo, Mendonca and ze Kalanga to have many shots at goal.

The key to the game is to start Mantorras or bring him early in the second half.
